Authority and NASTC

I now have my authority and a driver I met at Landstar orientation in 2015, now a friend, wants to drive under my authority. I figure he is squeaky clean since Landstar vetted him. I do my own IFTA and everything. NASTC and OOIDA member and know about the class NASTC offers for free wondering if anyone here can attest to it's worth.
