Authority questions

I had to have one on file 2 years ago for mine to go active. They never asked to see an employment application for myself, hopefully because they didn't want to sound ridiculous. I never filled one out nor will I.

 

Well maybe things have changed since I got mine who did you have to show the drug test to to start your athority.

 

In NY you submit all the documentation online required to obtain your authority. This was one of them. The nice part is afterwards they ask for a couple more items like copies of logs. This will become your safety audit which is just a phone call. No scary visit from the man.

 

A lot of very very bad and flat out wrong info in here.

For one, Dr's now have to be signed up with the state to do dot physicals. And you have to provide proof to the state that you passed or your license will be suspended. I missed getting mine to the dmv by 1 day and my license got suspended it cost me a hundred and fifty dollar reinstatement fee.

 

Yes your talking about your safety audit,that's after you've been running on your athority for a while they check you they came to my house.There are no fines or warnings at that meeting just see what your doing.thats how the drug testing came up I wasn't in one.still not.As long it's just you the officer told me what I said.I just making a living I work on my own,I'm not paying for stupid stuff if I can get around it.Im just by myself mind my business don't get out of services nobody paying attention to me.

 

Yes you do have to turn them in know still can't be checked tho.Not telling anyone to forge one.I wouldn't forge one myself.But I do know guys who still do it.You think they sell the forms at truck stops for Dr. To buy

 

They check some how cause the chiropractor I used to use could no longer do them. Said something about the regulation process wasn't worth the handful a year he did. (This is what led me to getting mine late). Was personally very aggravating since his idea of passing a physical was basically if you have a pulse you're good and I wasn't sure I could pass the vision test without going to get glasses.

 

I was referring to the application process for your authority in the beginning . One of those requirements now is a drug consortium on file or it will not go active.

 

It may take a month or a few years, but not participating in a group for drug testing will cost you fines and a loss of authority. It is one of the several major issues that put your authority into a suspended issue.

 

Yea wasn't telling anyone to do this.maybe the officer who did my audit was new I don't know.But he was the one who told me.NC doesn't do random dot audits on carriers there to busy doing the ones they have to do.As long as I didn't hire drivers or lease trucks on , didn't get a lot of out of services,or accidents,no one would ever check me.
