I do know it will work in a big truck, I've delivered a few Pete 330/Kenworth 370 series trucks that had 25 to 30 gal. tanks. With 3 more trucks piggybacked behind you you get about 4mpg, so you have to stop and fuel every 100mi or less. There was more than once I had to stop at a regular gas station and put some "AUTO DIESEL" in the tank just to get me to the next truck stop to fill up.
The worst one I had was a load I had from Monreal QC to just north west of Great Falls MT. Its a little over 2000mi. trip. The only time I was on a highway was when between Montreal and Ottawa and then thru the state of ND Almost every thing else was two lane. That truck had a slightly bigger tank I think I could go about 150 miles between stops. I still think I stopped about 20 times for fuel. It really sucks having to match all the stops up on your log.
Auto Diesel?

You actually could in the Mk3 and Mk4 cars (1998-2004) and the older non TDI diesels. The fuel filler neck in those cars didn't have the restrictor plate that the Mk5 (2005+) had in place. A truck nozzle would fit. The Mk3 and 4 cars also had a nifty little valve that you could release the air pressure in the tank and fill it up all the way to the nozzle kneck. It basically vented out through what would have been the vapor recovery connections in the gasoline versions.sharpshooter Thanks this. -
