Luddite. What no ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff, tennis elbow or Tommy John surgery required today?

Sorry, no. I cheated a little. I only used the clutch to disengage gears, then floated in.

    I know, I know.

    I truly am a heathen.

Hopefully there were no hills on your route today, what with no GPS synchronized with altimeter and terrain sensing software to get you through the day. You should probably file a workers comp claim just in case

PC’s would have been a passing fad if it wasn’t for the invention of free internet porn. I can’t wait to see what they will do with transmissions in the future.

Oh yes, there were hills on my route today, I was in the Texas Hill Country.
And, the autoT performed flawlessly, as usual.

Now don't get your panties in a wad, but when you get some time Google "trucking transitions to automatic transmissions." I know you won't do it (ignorence is bliss), but if you did, you would find a myriad of articles discussing how carriers are rapidly transitioning to autoT's.

I know, the change is so carriers can hire inferior drivers who don't know how to shift. But, they pay them the same rate whether they can shift or not. If the truck has an autoT, what difference does it make if they can shift. Oh, I forgot, real truck drivers shift gears.

Of course, these inferior drivers are unsafe, and will undoubtedly cause accidents. So a carrier spends money on new equipment (autoT's), hires inferior drivers, and increases their insurance score, which costs them money?

In the next decade or less, the industry will have completed the transition, you will still be screaming about how you are the best driver because you can shift gears, but you won't realize that you are the past, you are obsolete. Depending on how many more years you drive, you will be in an autoT.

The fact that you ignore all of these points, proves that you have no viable position. Just keep telling yourself that you are the best driver in the world - I believe you......

Now go pump your clutch and grind your gears....... You'll be gone in the next few years.....

@MACK E-6 This is a 47-55 Dodge. Do you think this trans is still turning 36 months from now when the autos that are rolling off the assy line this afternoon are scrap?

Right...... All autoT's will be scrap in the next 36 months...... sure, if you say so. And, that Mack E-6's transmission has never had any repairs? Sure, I believe you.

It is glaringly obvious that you ignored and avoided addressing my comments. I ask some specific questions/points, and you deflect to something entirely different..... We all know why.

If ALL the autoT''s will be scrap in 36 months, why is the industry be transitioning towards them? A company invests well over 100k in a unit that they will only use for 36 months? Does anyone see that as a viable business model? Please address that.......

I get it, you love manualT's, I get that, but, you refuse to address reality, ie, autoT's are the future. But, I know All of the articles are wrong (fake news Russian propoganda), and the "experts" are all wrong...... Only you are right, got it.

BTW, is that really a photo of your truck? Is that what you are driving around in?

Will check with ya later, gotta go run the Texas, Republic of, Hill Country.

But, I would like to add, I do think that manual shifts are needed in some applications. My first job out if CDL school was in the oil fields, oil field trucking, in all cander, I would prefer a manual, due to the awful roads and the pudding the roads become after rain. And, I have never worked logging trucking, but I can see where an autoT might not be ideal there.

But, for OTR, and local, it is the wave of the future. Will get back to you later, and drive safe, maybe you can address my comments, if you divert, I understand. BTW, does that relic even have brakes! The DOT Safety Blitz starts next month.
