Well...i see some stuck in snow that shouldn't be...in the medians...abusing the drive line on fast take offs from red light to red light. No control so it seems. Just know to drop the hammer and make it go. Oh i know some have manual trans that do this also. But..not knowing how to shift just makes it easier for a seat warmer. Imo.

Very true. Only thing is my 01, C-15 does have some electronics, as did my 3406-e. Very dependable. What i like is not as much smoke. Tree huggers hate to see that, and black smoke is wasted fuel. When i set the idle up on cold mornings the rpm don't keep climbing as the engine warms up. No throttle linkage to wear out and cause issues. But agree nothing really a deal breaker for me to dislike a mechanical engine. More simple, is better. More wires, sensors, gadgets, more trouble. Have to mention electric windows. Whats wrong with a crank? If i get to weak and feeble to crank a widow up and down, i am finished.

It was a joke. I do not have my shifter extended or raised. But auto shifts do encourage hiring more seat warmers.

Used to hear the same argument about fuel injection over carb's on our cars and bikes, turn's out technology will win out, the rest will die by the wayside.

Auto's are here to stay, eventually you wont even be able to order a manual trans.

No doubt. Led lights etc. I may even try a auto in my next truck? Some new pickups not even available with auto trans. To me smooth manual shifting is a perfected art. Probably a dieing art, but oh well. Courtesy is dieing, things change, not always for the best, time moves on. Real quick, dad told me his dad, or grandad didn't like farm tractors when they were getting popular. He said horses are better for farming..

I doubt manual transmission is going anywhere. If it does, well I guess I'll open up a shop and do conversions cause there'll be some good money in it.
