Automated. Yes , for training.

I had the second generation on my 08 eatn 10 and the only time I really had any issues was trying to go in reverse fully loaded to adjust the fifth wheel. It would always go into fault and start beeping. Other than that once you bump the dock a few times it's all good.
And I've driven I shifts from 10'to 16' year trucks they don't change much. They are however faster than the human mind shifting up or down. Personally I don't mind the I shift but I will take a standard without question. If fuel savings is in your thing. Drive two miles an hour slower and you'll save as much as the auto trans and the maitnance is cheaper.... A lot cheaper.Hegemeister Thanks this. -
I don't know what the newer ones are like, but the '07 I drove with a 13 Ultrashift was kinda goofy when backing. Best way to do it was to have one foot on the throttle and one on the brake to stop it from jerking all over the place as the clutch kicked in and out. I'm told many newer ones have a "yard creep" feature that will let it idle in motion.

Air operated so need to drain thanks daily. No manual or perfomance mode SNI locked it out even the leace trucks are locked. TE can't get new trucks because there students need to a standard but then get put in new automatic. Which is horse ship. South east trucks are parksmart equipped with 6x2 axle set up.
91B20H8 Thanks this. -
I have manual mode on my lease truck which has the DT-12 AMT. Comes in handy for sure...
No performance mode though, not until I go to my FL dealer....
Roll on....drvrtech77, 91B20H8 and moosc Thank this. -

So I picked up my new truck a few days ago and the plastic was still on the seats and 725 miles on the engine. It is really quiet. There is no manual mode and I still have not figured out creep mode nor have I seen performance mode. The on guard decided to stop working for a couple of hundred miles and turns out cruise does not work without it. City driving is obviously much better and I have no complaints on the highway. Major concerns are regarding downgrades and slippery conditions both of which I have not experienced yet
