I am asking $2000, but I am willing to negotiate. Top offer wins. If you have any questions, Call Debbie at 719-510-4734 or read on.
They are 2 year old Automatic Tire Chains that will fit a Cascadia Freightliner. They were on a 2009 model and were removed 2 weeks ago. I paid $3000 for them brand new, plus $1000 to have them professionally installed. I paid $500 to have them removed. So, obviously I have some money invested in these and am looking to offer a truck driver, owner or lease operator, or a diesel mechanic who could easily sell them for more, a great deal!
Basically, if you are not too familiar with these, they get mounted by your drive axles, they have 4 small air canisters that drop the chain wheel. This distributes 4 hanging chains under each tire and rotates as the tire spins, keeping a chain under the tire at all times. They are wired through an air hose that is controlled by two flip switches on your dash. So, if you see the chain up sign, you slow down to 25mph, flip one switch at a time, you will hear the chains drop, your traction will immediately improve, and you can go down the road up to 35mph. They are accepted by DOT, they are safe, convenient, time saving, easy, and worth it. Since I had them on my truck, I never had to get out and chain up. On I-70 in Colorado I never saw a time where drag chains were required. They weigh approximately 200lbs.
Let me just say, these have helped me for getting out of snow packed and icy docks, for getting started on an icy hill when traffic had caused everyone to come to a stop. I would just flip my switch and drive by all the other angry truck drivers who then had to get out and chain up just to get rolling again. Plus, they never caused any damage to my truck or tires. When I would chain up the old fashioned way, I ended up replacing several tires over the years from throwing chains or having them on wrong, my bad.
The only reason I am selling them is because I turned my lease truck in and am now working a local job. They are in good shape. I had them greased and any damaged chains replaced each year in October to be ready for Winter. These are great for any driver who hates to chain up or for drivers who are on dedicated runs and can't spare the time to chain up!
