I got around it, usually at about 4mph, trying to split to the top half of 2nd gear, until I realized why the splitter was a different color. No one taught me, just tossed me the keys, and I had to figure it out. I learn fairly well by that method.

At my last job, during a trucking switch. I was offered a 13 speed. It was a newer truck and more nicely equipped so I wanted it. Hadn’t driven one in a couple years at that time. Manager asked me if I would be OK with it. So I asked him, “you OK with me jumping in it driving it once around town for about 10 miles and then I’ll be good to go“. He was like “deal” Lol got out thereAnd surprisingly I didn’t even grind any gears. It is like riding a bike.
