    Autoshifts are nice just let the computer do the work. Today the computers tell use when we are safe to drive(ELD) now they can also shift the gears. I'm waiting for the self driving trucks. So the computers can do everything.

    Lol that's easy cuz....I can text, eat chinese food with chopsticks, and work an 18spd at the same time lol. It's called multi tasking

    You def don't want to have to be shifting a lot and eating a Sammy... See it now: three bites in, bumping gears with the sandwich hand, grip loosens and #### near everything between the bread falls out...... 5 second rule?

    I really take offense at your insinuation that I can't or am too lazy to shift. I have been OTR for 13 years and learned to shift first starting out. Maybe it is because I have been a lady owner operator on Choice and chose my equipment for what I wanted since I was making the payments. I have had 2 Volvo automatics and just prefer them. Once you get over the age of 60 you like it be a bit more comfortable. Got rid of the last truck last fall and have been taking a bit of time off. Just looking at what the companies are offering if I decide to return to driving as a company driver. Don't want the owner headaches any longer. Next time think before you make such a comment.
