I prefer my ten speed but the autoshifts are not all the evil people say. Many HUGE carriers use them trouble free.
Well, let me answer your question, small fleet, 15 trucks, 13 of them autoshifts, not a single wiring issue with any of them on the connectors. The only elec. issue was a known issue that Eaton/Fuller advised relocating the power wire to a direct battery hookup instead of a junction or connector hookup, but even then this known issue never caused a problem. Regardless, my old truck went 978K on 5 total set's of XY shift motors and one clutch replacement.
There are folks who swear by the autos, having a low setting would help in going easy on the equipment.
I have a 2000 freightliner classic with a 10 speed outo shift that neutralizes and won't start and when it does the light in the gear box will start blinking again and it will neutralize again . I turned the key on and off 4 times and it gave me these codes 33 ,13 , 16 took it to 4 mechanics didn't fix it what could it be guys???
