that is EXACTLY correct. I just adjusted the clutch linkage to try to tighten the brake, but it did not resolve the problem.... could this still be just the clutch brake being bad? The clutch is a auto-adjusting clutch and cannot be manually adjusted (hence why i adjusted the linkage...to no avail).
"starting it with the clutch pressed in and while its cranking/ as soon as it fires dropping it into gear and it would go." I'm not sure how or why that would work. As soon as it fires push the button to drive or reverse? I can get it into gear as i shut the key to off, the rpms die below 200 then i immediately turn the key back on and it will lurch into gear, however thats how i got stranded on a include as i was trying to limp it to the repair shop... $300 tow later... Does this sound like a clutch brake problem or entire new clutch? Remember i adjusted the linkage, i also replaced one of the speed sensors (bottom back rear or transmission)
autoshift will not go into any gears no error code, just flashes

If it was lurching into gear pretty good with the clutch pedal pushed in its going to need a new clutch since it isn't able to release all the way anymore, most likely from springs wearing/breaking out from the clutch disks and getting wedged in the clutch plates. This is the most common type of clutch failure I see.

it was lurching into gear if i had NO clutch pedal down, and rpms below 200 (key turned off then back on quickly) while the autoshift was attempting (flashing) to go into reverse. Is that symptomatic of clutch failure or brake shoe failure?Last edited: Oct 20, 2017

I love all the comments about the clutch pedal.. from people that don't know what they are talking about... the ultrashift transmission doesn't have a clutch pedal

I have a AUTO-shift, which has a clutch pedal.

So did you figure it out and get it rolling ? -
No, dealer wants to install new clutch $1600.... i adjusted the clutch linkage tighter but it still will not go into gear from neutral. Despite clutch hrake touching input shaft speed still too fast to engage. It will go into gear only if i turn key off and back on after rpm drop below 200
Bjames914 Thanks this. -
It really sounds like the clutch brake is done and even if the clutch isn't completely done yet it probably won't be long before it gives you more trouble. -
