That's not the topic of discussion Mr. WallBanger, But please entertain us with your thoughts, why is it that you won't work for such a company? does it make it less of a "real" truck? I didn't mind the one I leased a few years ago. your opinions are much appreciated..

The software revision on the autoshifter makes a huge differance...
With the right software updates, the shifts can get pretty good...nice when you are in traffic, but i still run manual mode in the hills...
Makr sure the truck has the most current software and hopefully has the most current revised x-y shifter in an eaton auto shift...

I have one. 2 pedal, no clutch pedal. The coasting and then jumping into second gear is BAD, especially in traffic or a slight downhill in a parking lot. Backing uphill into a dock smoothly can be a bit tricky. Other than that, it is fine on the road and does fine in the hills. I also switch to manual when in the hills. I don't think there is any fuel savings and in my opinion I think it probably is a little worse than it would be if I was shifting it myself. I bought the truck because the price was right (about $5000 less) and mechanically it was in very good shape.

Would I buy another auto - maybe. I don't love it nor do I hate it. If I could save a bunch of money again probably. If the price was the same - I'd probably go with a 13.

I test drove a few trucks with 3 pedal autos. Didn't think they were that bad. I kept them in manual mode most of the time and told it when to shift. Got pretty good at skip shifting them. They were all 3 pedal Eaton. Wouldn't mind one in a 13, but from their website, a 13 is only available as a two pedal. Well, won't be buying one anytime soon.

    I have a '05 Pete with a Ultra shift. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't.
I replaced the clutch once and most likely will again. Have 650000mi on the truck now and do not remember when I changed it.
Backing is a ##### sometimes. Slam the dock way to much.

Little harder to get unstuck in mud or snow.

I like it because I don't have to shift. And in traffic it is nice.
