Get a itr hurricane heater. It makes hot water and you can install baseboard heat in the truck. Entire system should only be 6000-7000..... Or just buy a new wabasto.

Installed? No idea but last I looked the same units were 500-700. Don't go too big

Change fuel inlet screen yearly, run them every month even in summer.
don’t short cycle them and let the. Go thru start up cool down cycle. Change igniter
When they need and flame tube occasionally. They are very reliable.
    problem like most things mechanical.
No one wants to maintain or understand how things work.
    pretty simple. Everything requires maintenance.
Several of those heaters I know of have lasted for decades.

Just got the new glow plug/screen for mine with over 5000 hours on it, I think I’m going to cook the thanksgiving day turkey on the floor of my bunk with the heater once it’s tuned up

Problem most have is they short cycle the heaters getting impatient. Fill atomizer screen with hard crusty soot and getting the screens out can be a pain.
Yeah those heaters will roast ya for sure

Going in to the 4th winter with my Espar and I've never touched it. Never cleaned it. Never run kerosene through it. Never cycled it like I always plan to in summer. Still fires up and runs all night. Sometimes it takes a couple times to fire.

Those Chinese things, I bought one for a camper project, like $99 on Amazon. I bench tested it and walked around it sitting on the bench for a few months. now and then I just marvel at the absolute POS that it is. I wouldn't trust going to sleep with that thing on if my life depended on it.

Hey, it's for sale though. You should buy it. $98, today's special.

You probably need to change the inlet screen it’s at the fuel tank connection
Right before the electric fuel pump for heater. Keep false starts going and it will give problems with atomizer screen and
    Burner tube. Just friendly advice

I know, but now I'm on a quest. I've neglected it for so long and it still runs and other people have so many problems. At this point I'm just seeing how far I can go. Lol.

Seriously though, I doubt I will get through another winter without PM. I'm home every few days so it's easy to put off. If I was ever gone for long and/or lived up north I would''ve done it already.

The chinese ones are just RIP offs of the real ones. If you want grab one but get your self a smoke detector.
If you service yours as you say it should be ok. There is a set up that needs to be done with laptop and soft ware, maybe yours is not working g properly and just needs to be set up? I've had 5 trucks now, all had bunk heaters, all just needed regular maintenance, all worked great.
