Average miles to inframe?

Do you still use Shaffer oil?

 

Yeah, still using Schaeffer. 10w30 in winter, 15w40 in summer. Been on the new CK-4 since last December.

 

Might wanna do main rods and bearings at this mileage

 

Only if wear numbers in oil sample tracking tend to suggest that, else why spend the money to do? If I didn’t see elevated levels of lead, tin, and copper, I would leave them alone. That is why multiple oil sample tracking over the life of an engine is good insurance.

Just realized who you are

 

the engine in my truck dropped a liner and started leaking antifreeze into one hole at 940k.

 

1.2 on my N14 uses less than 1 gallon of oil every 12,000 miles. Has never been opened up.

 

i can believe that. Had similar experience with a '95 N-14.
