average miles

So far this year I'm averaging 2,761 miles/week. I normally stay out 4 weeks at a time. I seldom do any resets.

 

It would help if we told what fleet we were in when posting numbers. I am averaging about 1900 a week on all weeks. I am owner/operator in the van fleet and stay out 15-17 days with four to five days at home. In my case it is very easy to get lazy and just take whatever they offer. Unfortunately you can end up with a lot of bad loads back to back. For me the last straw was when they offered me a 300 mile load coming out of the house. That would have been the fourth sub 400 mile load in a row. I turned it down even though they threatened to send me 170 miles to pick up a load. That would have been $75.00 for 170 miles out of the house. I told them they could do better. Next morning when I was planning on leaving I had a drop & hook on both ends. The load was 41 miles empty and almost 700 loaded. Sometimes you have to stand your ground.
