I was in there with you...Didn't know there were any TTR members there. Good luck with your trainer. I'm supposed to head out this weekend I think. Gotta call Leader tomorrow. I enjoyed orientation too. This company seems to care more about their drivers than everywhere else. Also I liked that they didn't drag you out of orientation 12 times like other places. They actually let you stay in their to learn all the things you need to know.

I'm still at the hotel until Sunday. Are you leaving out from home or from Cookeville?
-
I am at home. Went to Tupelo today and saw my truck, and met my leader and her crew. Seems pretty cool, but may take a couple weeks to get used to their system. Good luck...
-
Nice. My trainer and I leave from Cookeville tomorrow at 1600. He just got a new truck with the new Qualcomm system. I'm sure when I get my own truck it will probably have the old system in it. Good luck back at you. See you down the road somewhere.

Alright, week one is in the books. Went out with a trainer in a brand new 2013 Volvo last Sundat afternoon. Put 2600 plus miles under my belt. We did not sit once. Read it again, WE DID NOT SIT ONCE! We had another load before even pulling away from the dock on the one we were loading. It was just that good an experience. TN to Ohio, to North Carolina, to Ohio, back to TN. 4 loads in 5 days. Did some mountain driving, passed a few other trucks going uphill and I have to admit I immaturely snickered a little as I did it. The truck pulled really well. Trainer did not drive at all. He was there simply to evaluate and supervise. Used the new e-log system which took some getting used to. Enjoyed the auto shift transmission but kept reaching for a stick to downshift in the mountains. I didn't care too much for sleeping on the top bunk. Felt like a monkey in a cage. Back at the hotel now, flying home tomorrow morning. I'll be getting my own truck Monday morning. I know there will be bumps in the road as there are with any company, but so far these guys have kept every promise they've made.

Awesome...I made some easy runs in the beginning of the week. Then yesterday I set out from home terminal to Wichita ks where I had 2 deliveries today. Then I have 4 more tomorrow around Kansas City area. Not too bad, just hard to get behind some of these stores. The one I'm parked at now for the morning, there was no rear entrance and the parking lot isn't made for trucks. Hopefully I'll get out of here before the parking lot is full in the morning...
Btw, what truck are you getting? -
Congrats, best of luck!
engine32ladder Thanks this. -
Must have gotten a Petco or Shoe Carnival load? Not sure what truck I'm gonna be getting yet. Crossing my fingers for something with pretty low miles. My roomie from orientaition was given a Cascadia with 104,000 on it and it looks pretty nice. I wouldn't mind one of the Petes but i know that ain't happpening.

It's Hancock Fabrics. That is the supply chain I am on.
I got a Cascadia with 124k on it. It was beat up pretty bad, but they are supposed to get the things needed to fix it ordered for me so I don't have to drive around in a beat up truck. Headed to Cali in the AM...Got 10 stops on this one, and then head back sometime next week. -
How are things at Averitt? Thinking about applying there. Been out of a tractor trailer for about a year. Nice to be back on the board after so long. Hoping to be able to help out some newbies. I was a driver to supervisor of five depots and back to a truck (thank God) now want back to a tractor trailer.
