That's beautiful, congratulations. Most important thing is to be happy doing what you're doing.

Some people have had bad Fleet Managers who don't know how to manager themselves out of a paper bag with a GPS and written instructions. Can't keep a driver in miles for the week, etc...
Averitt is what you make of it like any other company. T 2 T made a concerted effort to try and work it out before leaving, so read his back story.
But the company as a whole isn't bad for a starter if you have bigger plans to move on too... but there are plenty of threads on the ups and downs of Averitt. I suggest you read them with an open mind, as some of the posts are from people who have worked there back "in the day" and a lot has changed recently. Some for the better and some not so much. It depends on your views...
I myself am still with them... and even now I still have my bad runs or cancelled loads, or general upsets, but I wouldn't be here still if I didn't have some very good people to work with...
Also, to answer someones post from earlier... there are no driver facing cameras in the tractors. 140 degree forward looking with no audio.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
unfortunately, Averitt’s doctor will require it if you are overweight. -
The company is a pain to deal with. tge breakdown department is a joke. They expect you to call your dispatcher “leader”.
they tell you to contact your “leader” for everything except breakdown. yet the”leader” will just tell you that they understand, but there’s nothing they can do.
also, whatever job description they give you will be about 60% accurate. and of course, they treat you like “family”.. -
IF THE DOCTOR SAYS YOU NEED IT
you just changed the words a little to say
AT THE DOCTORS DISCRETIONTexas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -
2, blow that smoke elsewhere. “At the doctors discretion” is nothing compared to federal law.
easier to just say you made an incorrect statement and move on. -
If a DOT medical examiner fails to properly administer this exam, they can lose their license and go to jail... Because they broke the law.
Everything we do as truck drivers is federally regulated by federal laws put out by the federal motor carrier safety administration.
We have a federal drivers license.
A federal medical exam.
Our trucks and trailers get federal inspections.
Our entire job and all the rules and regulations that go with it are federal laws.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this.
