    Anyone know what I can expect from a part time local gig with Averitt? They are hiring in my area. I have 9 months of OTR experience and the money is good but I just want to be home more at this point.

    It depends on whether you are city P&D, Supply Chain Solutioms (dedicated), or something else. The company has dozens or more different types of jobs. Where are you working, what are you doing?

    Ok so nobody had replied in this section so i posted in the new drivers forum. Pretty sure im going to go ahead and apply to Averitt and see what happens. Any input would be welcome.

    I don't know about Virginia, but in Chattanooga our part time drivers are worked to the maximum allowable hours every week. Unfortunately I don't know what the starting pay is.

    Thanks for the reply. This is kinda what I was hoping to hear. I know this is trucking and nothing is perfect, but are you happy with the company?

    I have been with Averitt for almost twelve years. I enjoy working here and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. It's not a perfect company, but I think it is better than a lot of them.

    I worked for them almost 20 years. It's a good company for some people. They are honest about pay and benefits. The key is finding drivers doing what you are considering doing where you will be working and deciding if that work is for you. They like "boy scouts".
