Just like any other engine, if it's not taken care of it will be a peice of crap. I have an 05 BXS and this thing has been solid. I got 1,001,600 miles out of mine before I had it overhauled. It was taking about two gallons of oil in 15,000 miles. Then the injector cups let fuel into the coolant so I took it in and had it rebuilt.

But in those million miles the only thing that had ever been done to it was a water pump at 265,000 and a iva solenoid at 745,000. Change the oil every 15,000 and drive it. I love my acert.

What does he have to keep fixing on his Acert? Only asking because we've got 2, 1-C13 & 1-C15 and both have been almost flawless. I've replaced one water pump and both turbo's thanks to an exhaust sleeve on my C15 (not a part limited to an acert) and both turbos were still cheaper than one VGT on an ISX.

Don't get me wrong all engines have they're faults but I've never heard of a C15 (acert or not) having a complete failure. I have seen ISX's with windows in the sides of the blocks. By comparison I can deal with a bad sensor or a broken rocker.:biggrin_2559:

early isx had a piston problem, my father inlaw has had two ecms, one turbo with two tow bills, and starting to have iva problems. The other one the top end has come apart twice constant iva issues and we've replaced wiring harenesses 4 times in a year leaving stranded mulitple times, and they run in an area with no cell service so when you break your walkin or thumbing. the isx we have replaced egr once then by passed and turbo once and when it gets its overhaul will be going to pdi setup, Anymore they are all junk but in comparision i have worked alot less on the cummins than i have the cats and fuel milage isnt even comparable with either cat and one is even turned down to 1650ftlb and yes we have done all the mods we can on both.

I havent had any more problems with my MXS than with any other engine in the past other than the VVA's and after all of them were changed to the updated one's no more problems with them.

I just had mine dyno yesterday 676hp to the wheels, but this is after Mr. Haneys/PDI stage1 tune.

Shimming the fuel pump is using 2 to 4 small brass shims behind the fuel pump spring to gain more fuel pressure.
It can be done with the pump on the motor but I have found it to be easier to do be taking the pump off.
Two is all I used and my fuel psi is 108 under load before it was in the high 80's low 90's.
