I just want to quote this and post before he comes back to say he’s backed up more miles than you’ve driven forward.

 

He may very well have, but has he ever had to split reverse or shift into high....?

 

I work at OD and why would your ego explode if you can get on here? We hire drivers with no experience.

 

OD is highly regarded in this industry. If a driver has that job, or one similar, he gets those "atta boy" pats on the back. Seemingly, drivers come on here more so for validation than for wisdom and advice. If they choose to work for Swift, they get torn down. If they go to Walmart, OD, or maybe fuel hauling or a specialized hauling outfit, they get greater respect. I see nothing wrong with either path. The driver is working nd contributing to society. He goes to OD, he will think he is God because that company is held in such high regard on here and throughout the industry, when it's just another trucking job in reality.

 

I knew what he meant but I was just pointing out that working for OD isn't something to get a big ego about considering we hire with no driving experience. If he comes in here with that big ego and attitude he won't last very long.

 

Truth be told,OD’s trucks (along with XPO’s wiggle wagons) are a royal PITA! They have this real nasty habit of merging too close in front of our trucks after passing us(not even 1-2 car lengths) and making the collision mitigation systems on our trucks go bonkers!
