What did they fire you for? Have Way to much information for an outsider

 

I have never seen a issue with demanding a company owner saying he wants his trucks parked at a terminal instead of being left at a wal mart parking lot or a abandoned building somewhere.Why people take jobs that are a hundred miles away are the question when they are 5 companies in driving distance of their home that are really the same job they take a hundred miles away

 

A few reasons:
1) Not everyone has 5 companies, or even 1 company, in driving distance.
2) Those companies might not be what a person wants. (out 3-5 weeks, multiple stop, driver unload, 6pm-8am shift, 5 nights/week)
3) Maybe they have freedom at their current company (doesn't micromanage, no hoops to jump thru for repairs, fuel wherever, no nanny cam, etc.)

 

I can also add that perhaps a driver has a skeleton or 2 in his past, therefore, the companies on his back yard won't hire him. Perhaps companies elsewhere are.more forgiving and will look past a driver's past and provide an opportunity, that's given that said driver has fixed his problems and got his life back on track. To your very good points, people make certain choices for reasons we will never know. We should listen and not judge.

 

Looks like they have about 1500 trailers for 575 power units so about 2.5 trailers to a truck, so if they are short on trailers most likely means they have a lot of drop and hook accounts.
