*THAT'S* the main reason? Not the coercion to run illegally, the withholding pf pay, the paying for your own repairs, the "trash" trailers, or the constant threats of being fired?

 

I learned from Craigslist long ago you do NOT work for Indians from India (Punjabi), or Pakistanis....they will work you and won't pay you.
I dont know how they treat their own people but they don't have American ethical practices.

I'm NOT racist, just my experience from working with them before.

 

I occasionally switch with these East Asians. One wanted copies of all the BOLS,,,told him to make his own,,which he did but his reasoning was so he could get paid for load. Funny hearing the guy point out his country men are a bunch of thieving SOBS . Also likely why many of them won't hire WASPs'

 

I found a Pakistani on Craigslist who wanted a driver. So I checked him out, did a drive test and was hired. said I would be paid by percentage. now this guy had an office in Walnut California which is next to Diamond Bar to the right and City of Industry to the left.

He had a light blue cab over with a sleeper with a dry van and was doing local runs.
I did 3 loads per day around SoCal, and with traffic...that was alot of hours.

At the end of the week I had put in around 90 hours....this was before ELD's like in 2005 or 2006...So I was cheating on paper logs...

I knew something was off when he gave me the rate cons with the price blacked out on it as this was before smart phones etc.....and he told me I would get paid on the 2nd week as they hold the 1st week.....

being used to this as with any company it seemed normal to me....I did the same amount of hours the next week...I was broke and litteraly lived off of top Ramen and drinking water....this guy paid me $333.00 on the 2nd week..

We had a blow out after that because I was seeing the blacked out rate cons...I would deliver a load....drive back to the yard in walnut, then grab the paperwork for the next load....no GPS ..all map book skills

So this Pakistani started cussing me out for demanding pay for my hard work that he shorted me...

That was the first and last time I would ever drive for these people

To top it off this guy would never let me put fuel in the truck....he kept a minimum of a quarter tank and one day the truck ran out of fuel on Atlantic and Beverly in East LA...I had to put out the Orange triangles and wait for this hot dog on a stick to bring out diesel.

I never got paid for the downtime either which took him 3 hours to get to me because of traffic.

Craigslist is either hit or miss, but mostly misses

 

I have some Punjabi farmers that I haul for. There are two families that I've hauled for that I've done business with for over twenty five years. There are several that I've worked with for over fifteen years.
None of them have ever been late paying their bills. None of them.
There's one that I rent a truck to for rice harvest. He tracks his hours and miles on the truck and sends me a check every month. I double checked his math when we first started and he's always right to the penny.
They are some of the most ethical people I know. Your statement that they. as a race, don't practice American ethics is ignorant and serves only to reveal your lack of understanding.
There's good and bad ones, like any other race.

You may have been the lucky one and found 1 out of 100,000....you should play the powerball or take your chances in Las Vegas

But I will stick to my experience with what I went through, thank you very much
