I would take I-40 to us 69 N (OK) to hwy 60 E to 43N to I-44 at Joplin, by the Petro, then head east to St Louis where you pick up I-70. It is a good road and NO tolls.
avoid I44 OK tolls

Wwnt to say it's $16.50 to Tulsa then another $16.50
Replied before I read everything -
while i agree its stupid in general to say "dont use this list of tolls" (cept the chicago skyway), if its a bigger company they arent paying 4 bucks a gallon for fuel, and thats without considering fsc (cant really take that into consideration cause you get it regardless). but ok secondary hwys arent so bad. 54 seems like a good alternative to me, too. i also agree that you could not pay me enough to run i70 west of denver for any reason. dont care how far out of route i have to go to avoid those mountains...ugh

as for fuel. shorter doesn't always equate to less fuel. cuz shorter usually ends up being longer time. which equates to more engine running time. more fuel being burned.
but hey. what do i know. -
I use to work for 2 companies based in Cushing, Ok. We always did the old road in and out to avoid the toll, whether going/coming from OKC or Tulsa. If $30 or $40 out of your pocket hurts too much, use that road.
