In the past I have used the BBB for info on brokers, they will tell you on wether they have had complaints, On trucking companies, I do not know what they could do unless a prospective customer or driver wants to check. I never have checked on a trucking company using them. I know they are good if you want to check on a contractor who you are looking at having paint your roof, saved me some trouble there.

I could only find a couple videos with Marten's bobtail in it.

I too was released from Marten, I did have one accident (3,000) with them one week before my six months was they charged me 13 points.
There is Nothing about pictures in their company book (if you still have it and you should) look and read the book cover to find anything that will prove your dismissal was not covered. If you do find a lawyer say that if you fight them you'll have to say that you want your job reinstated.

Page 29 of the Marten Driver Manual (issued at orientation) is full from top to bottom of fireable offenses, and it notes at the bottom of the page that it is only a partial list, that there are offenses not listed that they can fire you for. But the bottom line is Marten will report this to DAC, (DAC changed it's name to USIS, and now has changed it's name again to HireRight). HireRight (DAC) will keep Marten on your report for 10 years, but HireRight by law cannot release what Marten reports about you after 7 years. A small carrier might not check you out at HireRight, but you would be required by law to list on your application all CDL jobs for the last 10 years, unfortunately, so the next carrier would most likely call Marten for a reference. So IMHO your driving career is effectively ruined for 10 years. This is the risky thing about getting into trucking, is it's fine if your luck holds out, but if it don't, then the exit is not compassionate, you will be ruined. And this is a cruel economy to be dumped into, as I'm sure you know. It's great that you posted your experience here for others to learn from. You might consider posting it at ripoffreport.com also, which is another great site besides this one to check out a company before hiring out. I stay in touch with a few friends that work for Marten, and they are all scared. They say they hear from a lot of Marten drivers who are afraid to go to a terminal because they think they might get the order to clean their truck out. They say that, if Marten fires a driver, they will route him to a terminal that is short on trucks and then fire the driver there and make him pay for his own transportation home. As the economy worsens, the tactics for carrier survival will get increasingly brutal; I seen how bad it got for truckers in the Great Recession of the early '80's, and it appears this time around things will be much worse. An indicator that things are changing is, for example, I got a qualcomm reminder from my Marten dispatcher that I was late sending my daily check call; this warning came to me 3 times over a 2 week period, and the 3rd time I was warned that if my check call was late again I would be fired. It is very noticeable that the driver treatment is getting harsher as the economy goes further into ruin. I hope you will use the power of prayer to give you comfort and for guidance to a humane job. Good luck and God bless.
