Well, you really don't know him from the man in the moon, do you?

So how can you be so sure that he's lying?

Because most people who are trained like that don't go bragging about it on trucker web boards.

Appreciate you coming to my defense (anyone who reads this tale knows it's a transparent crock) but this particular moderator seems to have bone to pick with me.

Anyhow, since I'll probably be banned pretty soon, I wanted to thank you while I still had the chance.

For one Mack hit it on the head. Martial Artist are trained to defend their self when needed. This does not mean because someone called them a name. Most of the time you can get out of a situation without resorting to hyper extending or dislocating someones joints. There are a few that are trained that don't understand what their training means. I was a full contact fighter (kick boxer) and also trained in traditional martial arts and I ended up a truck driver so what is your point? I even fought in the ring between times that I drove a truck for a living.

You are trained to not have to use it unless you have no other option. Now to me someone pounding on me like this driver said that happened that is no other option. I will walk away from a lot, but I will not take a beating without defending myself or my family. Your training is maximum destruction with minimum effort if you need too. Most are taught to apply 3 techniques and to re-evaluate if you need to apply another 3 if needed.

I have a friend who was a professional fighter (boxer) he also coached little league baseball. Some drunk dad was mad at him for pulling his boy out of the game. This drunk was pushing him all over the place and saying I will rip your head off until someone asked him if he knew what he did for a living. The drunk said he didn't care until someone said well OK because he makes his living fighting. He is a paid fighter.:biggrin_2554: Point is my buddy never raised a hand to him.

Fabulous story! But, this embrogillo started because (go back a few posts) I typed two words - "I disagree." From there the kung ## fighters came out of the woodwork.

Fine - you win. 1-2-3 slap the mat.

But I will say this, even here in New Mexico (admittedly about as close to "third world" as it gets in the U.S.) we have these people called "police," and we can reach them pretty quickly by dialing 911. And that's exactly what normal people (not necessarily all of you highly trained kick-fighter/truckdriver people) who are physically assaulted should and would do.

Again - attack me until you're happy, but in my opinion (and others) the story that this fellow told still smells like BS from as far away as you can get.

Kap, that is a real horror story. I just finished up a stint with Roehl, and retired for about the 3rd time.Talk to your fleet mgr. and give him or her all of the details, of the experiences you had with this trainer. I can honestly say, I dont think Roehl will put up with that kind of crap from their trainers. I kinda think this guy will end up with Swift, or JB.Hang in there, things will get better. GOOD LUCK

I've been driving for a long time learned in military actually and you don't treat newbies like that .I believe you'll be fine because you don't have trouble expressing yourself and your cautious and always ask questions a real trucker will answer no matter what . And your trainer was a complete idiot to holler at you after all your gaining your experience .I'm teaching my kid to drive a car I scream inside my head honestly and calmly guide my child to safety when I get home I drink and smoke lots .Just joking on the drinking part .

Wow, I can't wait to go back and read everyone's responses. But before I do I just wanted to say that I had the same experience. With my trainer with Schwan's. I really don't know why I put up with it. I stuck it out the whole time and thankfully it was only 2 weeks.

I hope you are in a better place now.
