I'm putting the axles back in my 40,000 lb Rears.

What are they supposed to be torqued at? These are the 15 /16 nuts that hold the axle in on the Hub.

I usually hit the upper end of that spec sheet. 130-190 is a pretty wide range. 5/8" axle flanges get 185ftlbs.......For me. Especially without axle tapers/wedges. The axles with wedges will tend to stay tight and not leak with less torque but I still hit them all the same.

I use nyloc nuts and 180 ft/lbs. I have used Stover lock nuts in past, but they always seem to damage stud threads or pull studs out of hub when removing. Nyloc I just melt the plastic insert with smoke wrench when removing.

Most all Axles Dana and Mertor alike. Stud size of 5/8" should be all the same torque.
