Got pulled into a SC scale house. Tandems all the way back. Total gross weight only 69,000 but truck axle at 37,680. I had intended to slide the tandems but spaced it. Load weight was only 34,000 pounds. Anyhow the officer while professional was an ### it wouldn’t allow me to just slide the tandems and be on my way. I had told him that I had planned to adjust them at the rest stop a mile up the road. He tried to get me on all kinds of other stuff as well but I passed.

since this was my first I have a few questions:
    1. Will this go on my MVR or CSA or go against my company?
. The citation basically says pay then fine and it’s over.
    2. Worth contesting in court? Do they lower these like traffic tickets sometimes? Etc?
The fine is only $100. If I pay it and it just goes bye bye, then I’m fine with that.

    Were you inspected?

Edit to add: It doesn't matter as weight violations have no bearing on PSP or CSA

Edit to add again: Wow all I do is basically run SC and I cant tell you last time I went through a scale.....

 I'm sorry, but this is kind of funny, we've all been there, pal. Put yourself in the officers shoes, I bet they hear that all the time. I doubt overweight goes on your record, it never used to, just a hassle that pads their pockets. I can see some load grossing 90K, but axle weights are the dumbest rule, bridge law my, axx. Like my mom always said, "pay the $2 dollars and move on",,fun working for nothing, hey?

I've never once found myself inclined to leave my tandems all the way back until some point in the future. Driving around like that, especially when they don't need to be there, is more than enough to make a person wonder what else you decided to procrastinate on. Only point being, the inspection part of the story is no surprise at all.

Ohio can and will give you a ticket for tandem all the way back on a 53' trailer.

An overweight ticket is a non moving violation. Consider this as educational and pay the fines.
