Rough crowd but honest. :biggrin_25523: IF any other situation came along/on the road. It's downhill $ from there. IMO & it's all mine. You were under GVW by +2 T? & the load was 6k,12,27k. Sounds like the driver needs to go back 2 truck school. Ok that might of been harsh.

Maybe I am wrong here but don't you have to readjust the load at the scale house to make it legal before you leave? curious how that worked out if so.

You took the words out of my mouth. This is one of those times were my brain hurts thinking about how to explain just how wrong the driver was! Then, the OP scratching his head trying to figure out why they slid the axles and they were still over weight!

wow 1,200 he probably should of taken the a side road if he didn't want to spend the time scaling it out. or wait til the scale was closed and last resort just drive on by and hope the chase car isn't there. ok maybe driving past the scale house wouldn't be the smartest thing. but I bet next time he will go out of his way to scale it out.

The worst advice I can give you that might save you , is go around the scales. Illegal? Yes. But sometimes it's necessary. Sorry that's just honesty. Also, lie on your logbook and fail your drug tests for good measure.

Well, that can be a contentious point. My only overweight fine in Oregon was sticky because we were scaled and certified as legal by the US Department of Agriculture when leaving the shipper and had a weighmaster certificate to prove it but Oregon CMV Enforcement didn't recognize the Dept of Ag's certification... because let's face it, they wanted the overweight fine $$! That's all this really boils down to, making more money on the backs of the hard-working truck driver.

I had one hauling for the USFS to a wildfire. One phone call and the women scale master let me go. USFS paid the ticket. This was before the CDL license.
