Not if the vehicle does not have proper marking and no lights.

But, I will not argue the point with you. I have seen this happen, and you can go on as you see fit.

I dont thumb my nose at regulations that make sence, and not all regulations are for the better, if you think they are, good for you i dont. But if you can honestly tell me how reflective tape on the back of a cab or sleeper is helping anybody please let me know. I know of no one that has bin hit because they had no reflective tape on there cab or sleeper, no one.

I don't think either of us are smart enough to determine which regulations make sense and which ones don't. If so we wouldn't be truck drivers.....yes?

I have seen it happen to, to someone i know that rearended a truck with no brake lights and guess who got the ticket the guy i know that rearended the truck. I'am sure it can go both ways but 9 times out of 10 the one who rearends the other vehicle is getting the ticket plain and simple.

    Maybe so.
    Maybe not.

But any attorney can get a settlement showing the lack of proper lighting and safety reflectors.

I would worry more about that, unless I have very deep pockets.

People who follow the law without questioning the motives of those "in charge" are the same type of people to use the defense,"i was only doing my job..." when the law says they must. Just ask the german soldiers hung in nurenberg after WW2 how well that worked for them. Don't be such a mind-numbed robot. As far as equating the lack of intelligence and drivers in general, that again would be a mistake. Some drive because they must, some do it because they WANT to.

those who do not know their history are bound to repeat it...

    True that....

You can be 100% not at fault in an accident...ie, "non-preventable" on your part, as a driver and still actually be "at fault".....I know, it happened to me when a cab driver decided to get between my trailer and the curb...trying to pass me on the right.....

I wonder if the colored (black, blue, red, pink, yellow ETC...) reflective tape that reflects WHITE when hit with light would be acceptable ???

You could "color match" your truck and still kneel before the masters will.

im guessing you haven't done alot of offroad work, but when you have to back up cross ways through dried up ruts, that will tear mudflaps off.

just one of many reasons an off road truck would want to cut his mudflaps short

I suppose you would have to explain why your headlights or your eyeballs weren't working...
