Why do you guys need to be so stern/rude about it? He was just asking a simple questoin and wanted simple advice.

You seem like a responsible guy, since you've mentioned child support , so don't EVER even consider driving if you even tasted any alcohol. It is not worth it. For your child. Caught or not, there's always the possibilty of an accident ( even when you're clear of alcohol), so why encrease your worries, if you don't have to?

There's certain members of this forum that get a chubby and wanna display their holier than thou attitude anytime they see a thread about alcohol on this forum. They love to belittle those asking the question by treating them like a child. They also like to put up false information (I didn't read all of this thread, so there may not be any false info here) and say things such as federal law trumps state law.
It'd be nice if there was a way of warning people of this before they start a thread like this one.
Then again if the op had researched this forum he woulda found the answer to his question in one of at least 10 different threads that I'm aware of being commented on within the last 2 months or so. -
Scarecrow. federal law always trumps state law. A state can't make a law LESS lenient than a federal guideline, but they CAN make it more strict and stringent. Any more comments or attempted slams on me should be taken to private message.
And by the way, I'm not anti-alcohol, and have never said someone shouldn't drink if they want to. There's no holier than thou here. -
Not trying to say truckers shouldn't drink....like I said, the policies are there for a reason, to be followed. -
And I never named anyone, did I?

I guess the juvenile comment about getting a chubby and having a holier than thou attitude annoyed me.
No, you didn't mention any names, but it's obvious when you repeat my statement several times, and I'm the only one who has used that phrase. Not asking you to agree with me, just asking you to back off, we're wasting everyone's time.
<<< Former military law enforcement with 127 DUI apprehensions, a bunch of state trooper, sheriff's deputy, and local PD buddies (former military), and I keep up with current laws and trends - you don't do a job like that (or trucking) without continuing to follow the industry.Rollover the Original Thanks this.
