Grit your teeth and hang in there; the training period is temporary!
Apply to companies, even if you don't think they'll hire you; never know what might happen.
Back at it..

I did not know we have been reduced to hiring training school grads..
I know good drivers are hard to come by but that's California for ya.
Here we are still requiring 3 years but have dropped the tank experience requirementsChinatown Thanks this. -
I went to the Praxair website today and it did say 3 years experience. Found nothing about CDL grads..
Dennixx Thanks this. -
Training sucks, we all went through it. No other way around it. My advice is to just find a company where it’s not “ team driving“ disguised as training. LOL and the biggest reason for that is you won’t have to sleep on a moving truck if the trainer is required to be awake sitting next to you while you’re driving. It makes a huge difference. because you both will be sleeping at the same time.

Another new grad recently was hired with Clean Harbors, even though most of their ads have "2 yrs. experience required." He made a personal "cold call" visit to the terminal near him and the terminal manager told him, "Come back when you graduate and you have a job." He did, and was hired.Dennixx Thanks this. -
Warpdrvr said: ↑So, after over 10 years off the road, this pandemic brought my dispatch career to a halt. So, thinking of getting back into a truck. I stupidly gave up my CDL in 2015 thinking I'd never drive again. So, I'm having to go thru school again to get my license. My question is, are there any companies that still exist like Watkins Shepard used to do, go thru their orientation then just start driving with no trainer? I know I'm a bit rusty, but I'm sure it's like riding a bike. It will all come back to me quickly. I don't relish the idea of living in a closet with someone else for a period of time..
