Well all set for oreintation (again) May 3rd,, in New Boston. What I don't know is what trk availability is...
Would like to run the "907" comfort zone...for those who don't know, that's everything west of the Mississippi River.
Before I left was all 48 states..but stayed pretty much on the east....but I sooooo prefer the west. Hope to see you all at somepoint...untill then BE SAFE.....

    JustSonny Thanks this.

Or so I thought...just found out that even Swift isn't hiring drivers from Michigan who live north of I-96.. So I guess on with the search...

Well have several apps pending..hopefully one will pan out into something..
As it turns out these "driver mills" as they're called aren't as interested in just "any" driver as one may think..
Not so much who you are but where you live,,at least seems that way.
Gonna interview FFE probably monday...by the way it's not a misprint I intend to interview them as well...not sure it will matter much but will make me feel better.

Guess I'll give an update to those who care....
been working my fingers to the bone and brain to a frazzel, trying to back on the road...
I've got a major road block...
Swift will not release info on minor non-dot reportables on my DAC. Some of you may know this from other threads...
Every good prospect I've had so far has fallen thru for lack of conformation, of which I have none,,since none was issued to me.
So my advice to anyone,,,before leaving your present company,,make sure you get a copy of your DAC/HireRite record prior to leaving. So that anything you will need in the way of documentation,(in most cases) will be easier to get...
{F.Y.I} A driver is entiteled to 1 free copy per year..Just Google DAC/HireRite. Takes about 3/4 weeks...

I believe your idea for getting a DAC prior to leaving a carrier should be a matter of course for any driver. I've read many, many posts here about drivers getting surprises when they applied at other carriers.
I've never been with any carrier but as a school bus driver I have a Class B so an infraction could be reported to HireRight.
I got a free copy of my DAC prior to applying to carriers. I just wanted to be sure that there was nothing on there and, in particular, nothing that didn't belong to me. I think I'll get a free copy every year before April 15....an easy date to remember!:biggrin_25525:

Hang in there Gladiator! It's only a question of time....

I wonder if you could persue info through the Pre-Employment Screening Program. I think info that is found there, through NicTech, is collected from sources outside of previous employers. Might be worth a shot and I think it's cheap ($10) to get the report. Try this link as a starting place:

I left SWIFT in July of last year. Did some local driving then went back to my old industry. Things have changed for the better financially, as in my house is paid off and I have ample savings now so I am headed back to drive again. I need to get about 14 more months to have my 2 years over the road. I'll be back at Swift by July of this year. Almost a full year gone, but they offered me my old cents per mile and I get my truck right after orientation. Looking forward to it now that I won't be feeling guilty for spending ten bucks on a shower when I don't have one on my Pilot card and I'm not anywhere near a terminal.
