I run reefers which I have back haul for. Now my problem is dry vans. I have two dry vans and I need back haul for them into California. Where can I send them and get back haul to California. Any brokers or shippers that can help me with this?

They're not a broker but may have loads they need covered.

So when you say "Back haul", does that mean your willing to haul for cheap just to get back ? In other word's, haul CHEAP FREIGHT ? Just saying.....

Yeah of course as long as it is light weight and easy.... ...did you ever think to yourself Dave, wouldn't it be great if trucking was just that easy? Hard to believe OP is having problems finding loads lol.

Absaroka, WY to Buenas Yerbas, CA $1750 on 1044 miles.

    5 loads/day, 6 days/week.

If they don't know what you're talking about, ask for Chad -- he's the actual broker but his trainees typically answer the phone. If he is reluctant to talk about these loads, tell him John Galt sent you...

Without brokerage authority, how are they supposed to let outside carriers cover their freight?

I'm set up with a load board carrier and I get emails of loads meeting my criteria only to see what there paying. It's a joke what they pay, of course there's room for negotiation cause I have done it in the early days for profit, not cheap freight. But when a load come's out on a Friday late afternoon that has to go, it's funny what they will pay to get in done ASAP. My point is, these load's pay all decent, but the broker rips you for a good amount of change and most that are new don't know it. I haul for a couple a of carriers and do well. I don't put all my egg's in one basket. (rule of thumb)

Pretty vague question. It’s a big country, where are your vans located or did you not care if they dead head for 1,000 miles to pick up a load?

Usually it is easier to find good rates into California then out of it. As others suggested try a loadboard.
