Hey All,
It's been a while since I've been driving, but looks like I'm coming back.
Been trying to get a heads up by surfing the web for good companies and this looks like a real forum so here I am.
I had my own authority and trucks (just 2) and brokered for a while. Life changes and I sold the trucks and went to building with a friend. Housing went down and it looks like it's time to go back on the road. Anyone with Curtainside experience? I hate tarps but love flatbeds.
Kept my CDL up of course.
Probably gonna head toward a HQ in Seattle which is where the grandkids are as a home base.
If you know of the "One" best place for a "company driver" which is what I will be now, lemme know...and drive safe!
Back in the Saddle, again

Hello TedH and Welcome to the Forum

Depending on how long you've been out, you may run afoul of some companies' insurance policies regarding recency of experience. I'm having that problem at the moment, though I do have a couple leads I'm working now. One is a local Ma and Pa outfit with three trucks, and the other is a pneumo tanker company that has a policy of training everyone anyway, so may be a possibility. They didn't discount me out of hand, anyway.
It kinda sucks, me sitting here with about 13 years of safe OTR experience, watching some of these backbirths fumbling their way around the truckstop... and somehow *they* are employable while I am not. Ah... nobody said life was fair...
Wait... except for the prez. Missa Obama gon' save us awl!
(sorry.... had to say it)
