I am excited to get 'back in the saddle' after being gone for over 20 years. I was at one point in time a proud member of the pumpkin patch. I gave up my seat to get married and raise my children. My youngest daughter started college this year and my business failed at the same time thanks to the wonderful economic state we are currently in. I have always had a passion for driving and loved my life on the road back when I was in the drivers seat. When researching what companies to apply to, I was impressed by what Stevens Transport touted about themselves and decided that they would be where I would stake my new claim. As it turns out, Stevens is really my only choice at this point in time due to my lack of recent experience and the fact that I live in what is considered South Florida. I have completed my course at Roadmaster and completed the course receiving the Top Gun award in my class of 35 students. I got my Class A and also got my HazMat endorsement (this is all new cuz when I did this before, I only needed a Chauffer's License). I got a pre-hire from Stevens and am currently awaiting the orientation date to arrive. I was told that the date would move up as the time drew nearer and I am hopeful that this will be the case as I am getting pretty antsy sitting at home doing nothing. I have read all of the good and all of the bad posts on this site and on others about Stevens and I am looking to make this work for me. I hope to get a good trainer out of orientation that will teach me what I need to be able to be an asset to Stevens which I believe in turn will make this a profitable endeavor for me.
I will keep everyone up to date. Orientation is currently set for 1.17.10
