You obviously dont drive on the 401. It's the wild wild west of highways, and largely unpoliced. You have to kill somebody before the OPP will get out of their cars and do anything.

 

Chicago, Houston, Atlanta and Minneapolis are worse. I HATE the 401. But there are worse cities

Ive driven most of those and they are a cake walk compared to Toronto. Consistently for 825 kms from Windsor to Qc, it's the worst. Speeds way too fast, tailgating, improper lane changes, more agressive driving than you can count. And little to no policing.

 

True, I suppose. The USA does a better overall job at maintaining a LEO presence, and in general speed limits are observed. I'm gonna agree to disagree, I think there's worse out there. Maybe I'll meet you halfway and say the 401 is as bad as the cities I listed.

At least east of Cobourg and west of London it's calmer.

 

I have driven and continue to drive in metro areas like LA, Dallas/FW, Houston, Atlanta, etc. The same principles apply in all cases. The mental key is this: MAKE SPACE IN FRONT OF YOU AS A SAFETY OUTLET FOR OTHER FOLKS TO USE.

The 401 would just be another Zen day of driving for me.

My intended answer to the backing off problem remains the same as it had been for years since the days people rammed into the right hand driver's rear, forcing tractor to jackknife into trailer and then momentum and a mass of that including car and family underneath that 5th wheel becomes further absorbed by pending

Most drivers who show any kind of class and show perfomance equal to and or faster than my mind can work the rigs I would hire them for, that is, if I was a company. (Which I am not... I think the good Lord has seen fit to give me one club and play a game called wack a mole for one tuck at a time in the far wioofs.

When some of you have trouble carrying troubles to be whacked then I get to where maybe others can whack it and make it feel better But the level of suggestion, trash talk and other fun things has to escalate. It's almost ginned down by water until everyone thinks the rest of the millenials will sober up relatively quickly before they have had a chance to play.
