Swift is good and should be considered. Swifts safestat rating lower than CR and sons, Central, and Werner. Lurchings can tell about May as he used to work for them. I know a bunch of people with them including 1 trainer and they love Swift. Crete should be looked at but make sure your school is ptdi certified.

I have 2 possibilities, Swift and USA Truck so hopefully I will have an answer today and get rolling again. CR turned me down from old info from 20 years ago on my background report! I thought they only went back 10 years?

 

I just noticed you're from Melbourne, small world! I used to live in Grant, work on Federal Hwy. in Sebastian, and my wifes business was on 192 (East New Haven) in Melbourne back in 2001!

 

Good luck,I'm sure you'll be fine! I too am trying to get back in today with Swift or USA after almost 30 years out of trucking! But went and got my CDL-A last month so hopefully a quick orientation in either Syracuse,NY with Swift or Ohio with USA!

I just spoke to USA Truck after they sent me the pre-approval and have a link for No Recent Experience, Heather told me I need 40 hours of driver training before they can hire me! All scams if you ask me,hopefully Swift which was my first choice will hire me in Syracuse with my certificate of only 20 hours of training....Can never seem to get a break in this rat economy!

 

swifty will run u thru orientation then a driving test , backing tests, and all sorts of log classes and stuff but if you can still drive good they will run ya or maybe pair u up with a mentor for 10 days

 

We all are starving because they say they have NO LOADS, they will do nothing but screw you around. I dont see why anyone treats there company drivers like they do..THey cant keep you loaded, and many mnay many other reasons..Is there any truck company worth a #### anymore?
