Hey Birdeye, I don't know NY very well, or at all but I was born in Brooklyn. My Dad still lives there. Where are you located?

Yes IMO I would stay away from England. I too was in the Electrical Const. Business, very large commercial projects in the millions some with Trump as well, I was a purchasing agent making over 100k a year until March this year and you know no const. is going on around me except in Manhattan and I even applied for many there in the city too but have heard nothing as all projects that were awarded are on hold so I figured I would get back into trucking and more then likely retire with that if possible! I'll let you know tomorrow if I get my bus and hotel reservations from my recruiter tomorrow. Again good luck, I think things are opening up with Swift after the 1st. when all these holidays are over, I HOPE!

I'm about 90 minutes north of NYC. My wifes shop is in Westchester County, she is a fashion designer with her own line of high end clothing and even the rich aren't spending too much these days either! -
Well I called my recuiter at Swift in Memphis 2 times today and their computers are down, so she said call back tomorrow! How does such a large trucking co. have no internal IT person? Are they telling me the whole operation in Memphis is shut down for the whole day? Man i'll tell ya can't catch a break these days!

Well I did talk to a Swift recruiter in California today. He said that they will continue hiring, as you said, on Jan 13, 2009. He sent my application in for approval and will let me know in about 5 business days. I think you'll be OK if you have already been approved. Hang I in there and stay away from the negative waves
