Reading your post I did not understand the term “ packing shoulders “ I have had shoulder impingement for quite some time. After reading about packing the shoulder I believe this will help me tremendously. The rounding from pressing and shrugging has this rounding effect in my shoulders. Add it the fact of using IPhone and IPad and driving I know this is contributing to shoulder pain. Thanks to @WesternPlains and @DUNE-T i can work my way out of shoulder pain instead of working my way into shoulder painRideandrepair Thanks this.

The stomach muscles are important no doubt. Doing whats called pelvic tilts helps me the most. Similar to a crunch. Usually done with bent knees, lying on your back I do them with legs straight. Also do leg if knee lifts? Just bent knee brought up to the chest. Alternating. Then the twist, both knees bent, held together, while lying on your back. Twisting them back and forth touching the floor. I’m my case the bed. Works well for me. More comfortable tgat than a hard surface, can be find in the Truck. Getting out and walking a bit within 3.5-4 hrs max. That helps. I’m very lucky. Best thing for my back, is sitting firmly in the seat. Lumbar cranked to the max. Sometimes it gets uncomfortable, but is worth the results afterwards when walking. The one every Physical Therapist misses is back muscles, because of all the emphasis on stomach muscles. Back gets neglected. Lay flat on stomach, spread arms and legs apart in an X fashion. Simultaneously lift left leg and right arm together. Put them down. Repeat with right leg, and left arm. As if a puppeteer was controlling your limbs with strings. That gets the back muscles themselves. Real quick results. I’ve actually had pain disappear while doing it. Try everything. Plenty of info on proper ways. I’ve had to do exercise as often as every 3 hrs. That’s a lot, but when in pain we’ll worth the small effort. They really work, and fast too. I do very little these days. When my back rarely goes out, I start back at it immediately. May take a day, or a week. But it really works for me,

I just did brakes and drums a few weeks back. Carried each drum about 100 ft. in 10” of melting snow slush. Feet were froze. It just about put me under. Luckily I didn’t throw my back out, or have another heart attack. Same with installing wheels. It was tough. Had to carefully maneuver them just right. I used to handle that stuff like it was nothing. Working smart is key. Lifting carefully using knees, holding it close to body. All that stuff helps avoid problems. No more jumping off docks or Trailers. That used to always get me. It was a hard habit to break.Lite bug Thanks this.
