I'm burned out on rice. Betel nut and a massage girl is all I want. Anything else my body needs is just a necessary evil.

i do alright setting but it is nice to gut up and stretch.

We fly back to the states, South Korea to Indiana once a year 14 hour each way but I get up and stretch as in trucking I'm sure just stopping for a pee break and a little stretch probably helps a lot. I think I can handle that.

As far as pain meds, I'm laying in my hospital bed with an IV in my right hand injecting antibiotics and strong narcotics as my IPad typing probably shows, but no, once I am out of here maybe a few pain pills for recovering it has only been 6 days since surgery but I never to anything stronger than Advil

working on airplanes we get random test any way, I'm sure in a few months I will be maybe 85-90 % I am hoping back to normal and maybe3-6 months normal I hope.

i have been walking a little up and down the halls here at the hospital since the 3rd day after surgery. I get up and walk several times a day and feel pretty good but got a long way to go.

After 2 days on Indiana roads you will be going back in for surgery.

That ain't no lie! My left steer busted a belt internally and took to a bad intermittent high speed wobble. Mechanic asked me about curbing it. I wanted to say: "you curb trailer tires not steers, dumbarse" but then I remembered seeing some of our drivers curb steers when pulling up and crunching bumpers on a pole when they had ten acres of room so I just said: "Nope. Not even close. Been running heavy loads of water all over Indiana these last two weeks. That's when it started." "Nuff said. I'm from Indiana. Got pot holes you could lose a Honda in and this time of year? I got it. No problem."

I believe on any physical you fill out for companies there is the part about any surgeries. You will need to make sure you have any paperwork with a release form from that dr I think. It would most likely be a good idea to have a dr in the states you can also go to for any other major paperwork because overseas is too far to chase a dr down.

Sorry to hear about your back, hope it improves with the surgery. And the roads are bad all over I am afraid. Facebook had some posts from Northwest IN, I-94 up around Gary, that were the width of a tire and doing a lot of damage when cars hit them. Life never changes I am afraid on that line.

So you would risk permeate damage and being disabled for the rest of your life to drive a truck?

The seats are alot better in this day and age, and very adjustable, so you should do fine.

The real key will be your rehab: the best way to support ANY joint, whether it be a knee or your back, is with strong muscles, tendons, and ligaments; and the only way to get that is to work like a whirling dervish on your rehab exercises, do ALL the therapy and exercises they prescribe and then some, and make all of it as strong and flexible you can.

Do that, and I think you'll be fine, carry a good back brace for those times you strain something, but don't use it unless you HAVE to, and move correctly to protect your back.

I had the same operation 27 yrs ago and no problem until now,I'm only 60 I am not dead. Live life to the fullest :)

Would never risk things on purpose, but compared to how I live my life, driving a truck is very low risk.

The Bose seat may be the solution. Google "Bose truck seat". Expensive, but it will take out a lot of the rough ride.
