Back up your files (friendly reminder)

    Well to the "Linux doesn't get viruses" crowd, I spent the day removing malware off of my box. I won't get into how it got there but it got there and the work it took to clean up was just tiring because it propagated.

    As for being easier - sorry but it is not compared to windows it is harder to work with. Compared to Mac, Mac has both of them beat.

    I would not recommend dual boot, when I need to use windows, I use Virtual Machine and it works great.

    I think if MS would have taken the approach of building a proper OS with proper ideas to go with it, maybe do what Apple did - copy ideas - then they would be using a linux back end with a good easy to use front end.

    By the way, I used Linux when it first came out, it wasn't hard to install or configure then as it is now.

    not hard to install. once you figure it out. cuz it sure don't install like windows. back then anyways.

    i checked it out in 99. never heard of it till i heard the company redhat. seen it on the shelf of operating systems. and bought it.
