I was asked at my last physical of if I needed a sleep study. I told the doctor that I realised what was the reason for sleep apnea and now I sleep on my side. Doctor agreed with my analogy and passed me for it. No this wasnt for Schneider yet. September I will be going off the deep end?

 

I don't understand people who don't like to breathe.

 

That is not the question under debate. The question is does a company have the right to force you to take a medical test - at a provider of their choice? One that your own physician does not believe you need? One that can result in a lifetime diagnosis?

 

Yeah, lack of breathing can be lethal

 

It's the kind of question I think everytime I see someone ##### about slee apnea acting they don't have it.

 

But when you are ordered to take the test based on 2 of 8 criteria, it gets sketchy.

When you aren't allowed to consult with your own physican, it gets sketchy.

When you must take the test at the facility directed by your company, it gets sketchy.

When it appears that 90% of the people tested at said facility test positive, it gets sketchy.

Personally I think most of these guys at least need the screening. However I understand their reservations .

 

Sleep apnea is like IBT. Just something else to make money off of.
I’ll look for the link again, but the FMCSA has posted that since 2000, it can contribute a total of 14 accidents to sleep apnea.
