Okay well thanks for everyone's help. I am completely new at this. Pulling hens teeth? That was a tad rude I would say. But thanks for trying to help anyways. We will call freightliner and pull the history. The different mechanic is coming on Tuesday lol. Thanks again though...

    I meant it this way...
When someone has a problem, the more they post, the more help they get.
So saying that the lights are flashing, sensors got replaced, and so on initially, would have been a lot easier. Thus pulling hens teeth for information:biggrin_25525:
I bought a used engine from a truck, and had my local FL dealer look up the history of it. They found the company name, all dealer work carried out on it, full specs, and so on.
I am still lost as to why the mechanic can't pull codes though. I have a generic HD code reader for ABS, engine, trans, etc codes on big trucks, and it has never asked for a password. I cant change speed, power, and so on with it, but for codes it is priceless.

I'm not sure why the mechanic can't read it. We have taken it to three different shops already, the first two couldn't even hook up because there words, the truck is ancient lol. But I'm not sure all I know is still can't get it fixed :-( went through all wires as well. The mechanic who did hook up with his machine just called and said we needed password to do anything so I'm really not sure. Detroit diesel can hopefully fix it and then be on the road at some point next week. Thank you though for helping!

What I seen here was there are of some of us who know what we don't know, then there are some who just don't know what they just don't know. THEN THERE ARE SOME WHO CAN'T READ BETWEEN THE LINES AND CALL PEOPLE RUDE, ALL THE WHILE THEY ARE TRYING TO GET THEM TO READ BETWEEN THE LINES. Perhaps if we asked the OP to give us the last four digits of the person's social security number driving the last vehicle they seen, even though they could identify the particular vehicle type they were driving, then maybe they could relate too what we're trying to relate. Then there is the problem of passwords for code troubleshooting, something's rotten in Denmark. I guess I will be called rude and not nice again, oh well, I probably won't sleep tonight until I close my eyes. GEEZ, what a rude bunch of ruffians we are.

And I have the infractions and "points" to prove it.....All the time while attempting to help someone. Oh well. I think the OP got the point I was trying to make, which was please oh please give ALL possible relevant information at the start!
My posts may be long winded when I ask for help, but I ensure that ALL information is available, including the background etc, to aid those that will try to help me.

Okay guys I am new to this I'm just the Truckers wife. I am 21 and we just started this adventure three weeks ago. We have put probably $4000 more into it just trying to figure it out and get started. So I'm a little frustrated yes. But I am new at this, I have never posted on any site like this. But we really do appreciate all of the help and I do get it. But I honestly didn't think I had to post all of the information and background just for this question. I understand now that if I need help on here then I need to post every detail. Thanks anyways you guys!

So we were out test driving it to see if we got it fixed because we replaced cam sensor and it did come back on but only at about 1400 rpms and then the light shuts off at about 1000 rpms. There are only two batteries in the truck. Could this cause a low voltage problem and shut the truck off? Or cause that light to come on?

Cam sensor will not cause a shutdown light, only an amber warning light. I know it sucks not getting your load out, but you're throwing money away guessing and changing parts without properly diagnosing. You're also messing around with a lot of stuff that if not done right, could make a tech take longer to straighten out, costing more money. I think you have the bite the bullet on this one and wait for the dealer to get you in.

Only 2 batteries is not the issue, it will be an issue in the middle of winter when you try to start it, but once it's running, the alternator puts out enough to run everything on the truck while recharging the batteries.

Okay thanks again! And yes dealer comes on Tuesday. Do you think the rpms have something to do with it?

Is it all the time at 1400 as in sitting still or within five min of leaving or after its been running a while.
Whats the temp guage say when it first comes on?
Again what year make and model is the truck?
