Safe bet would be at least a minimum of 10+ years. It would not be surprising if background checks go as far back as your youth.
Whatever took place in your past, be upfront about it, if asked about it, both on your application and in an interview. Other members of the forum may have better suggestions. If so, heed their advice.
The absolute best of luck to you and your family, God bless you and your family!
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.
Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, all year round.Last edited: Dec 8, 2020

By law, 10 years.
Most companies don't care past 3-5 years though, depending on what the issue is.born&raisedintheusa Thanks this. -
Answer all questions truthfully. Have you "EVER" mean just that. "In the last 5 years" means just that. We live in an Information Age. If you lie, they will most likely find it and won't hire you, or fire you if you already work for them. Just be honest. There are plenty of people in this industry that have criminal backgrounds/ misdemeanor or felony convictions. They were up front on their applications and got the job.
born&raisedintheusa and Lite bug Thank this. -
Anything you've ever done that's documented can be found. But it is hard to "look" way back 25 years or more. Going back 10 years ain't too hard in this high tech age, right ? Truck co's use different co's to do background checks, FYI If you ever "google" yourself, you'll notice some discrepincies in previous addresses or dates where you lived etc. Truck co's are interested in driving records, criminal convictions especially drugs mostly. Good luck....._____=====``````
