3 years unbroken chain of employment followed by the CDL only history back another 7 IF you have it...
FMCSA indemnifies the carrier from suits as they MUST check back 3 years of drug and alcohol testing history/violations....
anytime I get a request for a former driver who's history is over 3 years old; I don;t answer the drug and alcohol section and mark > 3 years...
The drug testing rules drive this part and is the reason you sign the form allowing the former employer to release information.
Otherwise it is illegal to release any drug and alcohol information without the driver's written consent...
Even to the wife who's screaming about her hubbies positive post accident that just cost him her dream, high paying, gig........
