And that's what is wrong in this country.

"I'm an adult I know it's not morally correct but without evil in the world you can't protect the good."

Sounds like a case of no self responsibility to me. I don't know the OP so I make this assumption on what he wrote. I have had good and bad experiences with jobs in the past. Some my fault some theirs. Most cases it was a combo of both. I always try to be honest. And it usually pays off. If it doesn't I know I can hold my head high either way.

acting like an adult is more then just something to do with your birthdate
and if you dont like the answers dont ask the questions
just to validate your less then mature behavior
I was 48 before I acted like an adult and assumed responsibility for all my behavior

Awww, did somebody get their panties in a wad when they were told the truth? You just run along now and do whatever you want to do. I'm sure nobody on here gives a right rip.:biggrin_25512:

Because I initially thought you were asking a serious question, for information. Obviously, I was mistaken. . .

Well I assume that all adults know that life is not all good and sometimes you have to do what u have to do...it's just that simple. If you think being an adult is telling the truth all the time you're living in a fantasy world or high on drugs...lol. How many adults let their kids believe santa claus is real only to have the kid grow up and be disappointed? I don't have a problem witht he answers I received, I just wanted someone to actually answer the question and no one did, so therefore the statistics of Americans are correct "quick to judge, slow to think". :)

I understand how what I said my sound awful and irresponsible, but hey it's the truth. I am very responsible, therefore I know the meaning of self-preservation. If you think that being successful is being honest all the time then you need to check the credential of most millionaires and CEOs. I hold my head high when I know I can feed my family and if my telling the truth means I won't have a job versus telling a lie and having a job which one do u think I would choose? Being objective will get you farther than subjective actions in business. And without evil you definitley can't protect the good. If there was no war (which is considered an evil act), do you think you would have all your liberties and freedoms (which is considered good)....lol cracks me up how one is oh so quick to judge.

Self preservation at the expense of my honor and integrity is a compromise I am not willing to make. If you are then that's on you. I said I make my assumptions only on what you wrote. You clarified and so far my assumption stands. My family will be feed and housed no matter what. But not at the stake of my honor and integrity. Do what you want. Say what you want. But when the truth comes out and your fired for falsification please don't come back on here crying about it and how terrible the firing company is. Just because you are lied to is no excuse for your lying. You say your an adult? I believe your over 18 and the law says you are. You say you are honest? Well you admit not 100%. You got your answers and no one said its ok to lie. You don't like the answers you get then don't ask strangers on the Internet.

Have fun justifying your dishonesty with altruistic motives. Doesn't work for je and I for one would fire any employee who lied in their app. An explanation can go a long ways. A lie only goes as far as the moment it is discovered.

And as to how can past employment be found out? You do know your SS record can be pulled don't you. If the paid you and held taxes and SS out it'll be on there. Some companies will ask for a copy of the tax return for the year with the gap in employment for proof. Some ask for a signed and notarized letter from a witness stating you were unemployed. So you'd ask some one to lie on a legal document? I guess you would if it suited your needs. Consequences be ######.
