No I don't hire drivers, but I know a little about privacy laws and you just proved my point when you stated that they must sign releases. Without the signed releases you could never get some information.

Go back and read what I stated and if you missed the point, you are not very good at "hiring".

OP is asking if a new employer could find out about an employer that he doesn't list. The answer is yes,if the new one is diligent on checking. In many cases the phone call/e-mail/online app meets the release requirements.

I will bet you $100 right here on this website that without my "written signed permission" you will never find out my Social Security records or anything that has to do with my state or federal taxes and I will bet you another $100 that without my written signed permission, you will never be able to pull my PSP. You want to lose some money??

I am almost sure that you can't even get information from DAC without my signed permission. You go and dig into my "private information" without my signed permission and you will be in some legal trouble. Just because you might be in Human Resources for some company, doesn't give you or the company the right to certain pieces of information.

You are "done" alright because you cannot intimidate me and I would never apply for a job with a person with your attitude. You see, I have reached a point in my life where I will not allow an employer to put a "ball and chain" around my ankle and for the employer to act like a plantation owner years ago. Your company is probably paying wages that were paid in the mid 70s, plus piss poor benefits.

Lawn isn't dry enough to mow yet so; you got me there. I pay the drivers 200.00/per week after 6 months training at 75.00/week. trainers get an extra 25.00/week,LP trucks get 350.00/week. I do give 2 days off for every 60 days on the road. I don't know if that's above or below 1970's wages. I'll even bet you have this number memorized 202-307-9110(investigations office for the US Marshal)

Yeah, just like the rest of recruiters or dispatchers, you lied to me. You said that you were
but then came back for more. Oh, I didn't need the US Marshals, I had a little card in my pocket that prevented people such as you to come close to abusing my "rights" and if you did "cross the line" you would pay. My working days are over with now, but I am proud to say that I ever did draw one dime of unemployment, not a dime of workman's comp. , never late for work or an appointment, never a "chargeable accident", last traffic ticket was in 1978 but!!!!!!!!!! I would never allow "my chain to be jerked". Jerk it and you would pay!

Isn't this thread getting a little hostile? All the name calling & Liar! etc? The exclamation points all over the last few posts? Phone numbers for the US Marshall's Investigations Office? Lord.. isnt there a rule here about attacking or hostility or something?

Hummm, I found the three rules. Looks like the closest thing was:
"1. DON'T INSULT OTHER MEMBERS. You can disagree with a post without using insults. Members who are rude or create a hostile environment will receive a warning. Members who fail to heed the warning will be banned."

Maybe time to throw a stick in the wheel, guys? Lets get back on topic here or let this thread die.......

Ok I said SS records could be pulled and they can ask for past tax returns OR a signed letter from a witness stating the time your were unemployed. I apologize for not clarifying that a release had to be signed by the applicant for the SS records. But read the applications and a lot of them have general background check releases in them. Gives permission for most if not all avenues of background inquiries.

I'm not trying to stir the pot just passing along info. Read EVERYTHING you sign. Your background info is not nearly as hard to obtain as people think. Especially with all the info you fill out on an application for employment.
