So i have a class A CDL now but im being turned down everywhere but a few. It seems like there would have to be some at least some what decent companys that will accept having a criminal record. I have a great driving record and i have the license now but man it has been a tough road so far never knew the standards of the industry would be so tough with such high demand. Couple of the companys that have said ok get straight up bashed by any and everyone all over the internet. I would just like to find one that i would feel somewhat happy about starting off with. My question is am i missing any decent companies that will give someone a chance with a past china gave some good advice and i appreciate that but most of them were a no go. And i already know about Carolina,PTL and i dont see how anyone could pay the light bill with Carolina. PTL seems ok i guess just extremely long training at low pay. Anyway sry for the long post any last suggestions. And out of the bottom feeders who would you go with if all else failed. Appreciate yalls help

Harsh @pattyj, harsh.
Bama...same boat here and I had seven different companies offer me jobs. I had choices. Were they the best? No, but, like you, I made it hard on myself and had to man up and face the uphill battle ahead. Six months to a year from now I'll be able to hop to a better company with more miles and better pay. Just get hard, endure and overcome. You CAN do it.DustMyBroom, White_Knuckle_Newbie, bamalife123 and 3 others Thank this. -
Not harsh just straight up and to the point.I like to keep it simple.Op needs to take what he can get and quit looking at the flaws a company has because as I see it the decent companies will pass him by for now.He needs to find a company any company stay with them for a solid yr then he can apply to the decent companies. They'll probably take his work record over his criminal record.Based on the ops thread he seems like a nice guy who really wants to enter this industry but will his personality pursuade the better companies, not at all.DustMyBroom, White_Knuckle_Newbie, Broke Down 69 and 1 other person Thank this.

It was the "beggars can't be choosers" remark I found harsh. A man with options is in no way, shape or form a beggar.
My point was he will have choices, just right now he needs to look for the least worst choice. It's a common position those of us with a checkered past find ourselves in. Case in point...I was offered a job with the infamous Carolina Cargo. I took a job with Trans Am. Least worst choice. -
Don't worry about what anyone else says about a company. The best company in the universe will have some misfit complainers.
Try:
TransAm - it's a pretty good outfit.
PI&I Motor Express - flatbed
Both companies hire ex-cons and don't go by what's on the website.tscottme and Broke Down 69 Thank this. -
Well said.
