Unless the 4 wheeler drove into him, we are responsible for anything behind us when backing including moving 4 wheelers who stop behind us. As long as they aren't moving towrd us when we hit um, were responsible.

Hope he learned how important GOAL is.

Did you get find out what the 4-wheeler was thinking, to drive right up to a truck that's backing up with with hazard lights on?

Got to always have eyes everywhere when backing and always use hazards and airhorn so ppl hear you and look. I have had that happen a lot and I think ppl do it on purpose instead of going in front of you thinking they will get hit and get a new car and thousands of dollars in their pocket. I have seen huge walmart parking lots that are empty darn near and a truck parked in the back of the lot and cars go park right in front of or behind the truck trying to get ran over. Ppl will try anything to get money and new cars and just view trucks as dollar signs. I hope all works out for you OP, I have seen drivers do worse and not get fired. Keep your head up, one accident isn't a death warrant on your career. Just learn from it and never do it again.

I don't think you'll be fired. Probably on probation. The car clearly was at fault.

The fact of the matter is... nowhere in this thread is there any proof if there was any fault by the car's driver.
In fact, there's not enough written details to say anything to place blame on the car.

Not one person here knows if the car was 3', 5', 10', 25', 50' or 100' behind the OP, or exactly at what point it pulled up or parked.
That, plus many many other pertinent details are unknown.
So how can you claim exactly who's fault it is, or who contributed to any fault.
I'm not saying CJ is 100% negligent, but simply showing how people make wild judgements based on "no details".

Prob was the car's "fault" but driver is "at fault" because he's responsible for anything he backs into. I found this out the hard way by mistake. Yea the 4wheeler may be an idiot to go right behind a semi, but the semi is still at fault for not goaling one more time.

yea, but its still out fault if they do. Gotta keep track of wear they are, and if you loose track get out again. Also it never hurts to ask a nother driver to spot you if enough cars are around
