Actually, the equivalent of your 15 years OTR backing would be a one-year LTL driver who bumps docks all day long, stays fit hurrying back to shipping dock, pushing pallet jacks and handtrucking boxes in and out of a trailer all day.

You'd think, but in reality backing pup trailers with day cab tractors is child's play compared to backing a 53' with a 244" WB hood truck with the stacks blocking your view. I was a P&D freight guy for a couple of years and rarely encountered anything that made my ##s bite the seat.

 

Drove for an outfit that never retired a truck (unless wrecked).

So often had long nose, 3-axle Pete with two-stick transmission (one's a splitter, you loop your left elbow in the steering wheel and shift one stick and then the other with your right arm), tractor longer than half-set around Los Angeles County.
